Remember my/your “silkies”? I think of those often, and you’ve probably outgrown those by now.

Remember when we were trying to break you of your thumbsucking, and we tried EVERYTHING: the nail polish, vinegar, hot sauce! You would stick your thumb in your mouth anyway and then say “YUM!” I would try not to laugh, but you always made me laugh. Then, to show me that you could stop sucking your thumb, you started sucking your pointer finger… as if to say, See, mom? I am not sucking my thumb. You are such a hilarious kid. I miss your bright smile and contagious laugh.
