It’s almost your 18th birthday. I remember when we brought you home in Alabama. You made me a mom! I guess because we were in the south, they asked if you had a crib or if I was going to put you in a drawer! You had a beautiful crib, and the “theme” was light green and yellow baby animals. Since I was “older” (33), they thought that you were my 5th or 6th baby! When I would take you for your checkups, people would say, “What a cute granddaughter you have!” I used to get mad, but now, 18 years later, I laugh. It was pretty funny. I’m mailing this out today, so I hope that you get it by your birthday next week. You are a blessing from God, and I know that you struggle at times. You are loved and are never alone. Both of your families love you very much. I know that you always try your best, and I am proud of all that you have accomplished!
Love you always, Mom
